Passengers say flight attendant was intoxicated

News

(ABC) – A concerning scene was caught on tape when the sole flight attendant on a plane going from Chicago to South Bend, Indiana was apparently intoxicated.

Concerned passengers were frightened for their safety after spotting this flight attendant apparently intoxicated mid-flight.

On a short United express flight, passengers said the flight attendant appeared impaired before take-off.

Once in the air, it appeared to passengers that Julianne March passed out.

Passengers even fastened her seat belt for her.

Charging documents said the 49-year-old Wisconsin woman needed to steady herself upon landing in South Bend.

Officers said they noticed bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and an odor of alcohol when she finally took a breathalyzer.

Her level was .2 – five times over the legal limit for flight attendants.

Last week, a Delta pilot was taken off a plane and arrested and suspected of being intoxicated.

The flight attendant’s union, like the pilots, offer a self-reporting program that allows flight crews to seek help.
