Police officer saves dog that fell through ice in Ogden, New York

It was a dog rescue, in the nick of time.

The canine fell through ice on a canal in the town of Ogden, New York.

Local police officer Sergeant Travis Gray risked his own life, crawling on the thin ice at 2 in the morning, braving frigid temperatures, to save the dog.

Both he and the distressed canine made it safely back to shore.

The dog was hypothermic, but has since recovered.
