Evansville police are teaming up with law enforcement agencies across Indiana this month to enforce seat belt laws.

During the “Click it or Ticket” initiative, patrols will be watching for unrestrained drivers and passengers.

Indiana has participated in the “Click it or Ticket” for more than 20 years.

Last year, more than 30,000 citations or warnings were issued in the state.

Close to 14,000 of those were for seat belt and child restraint violations.
