KENTUCKY (WEHT) – Part of Mammoth Cave in Kentucky will close for more than a year for renovations.
Officials with Mammoth Cave National Park say a two-mile section of cave will close this fall, and not reopen for 18 months.
Part of the project will rehab the cave floor, making it smoother and more durable.
They will also add steps and handrails.
The Grand Avenue Tour and the Wild Cave Tour will not be available during the renovations.
And other tours, including Domes and Dripstones and Frozen Niagara, will be closed for part of the renovation process.
