Public input sought for proposed Watson Lane project

News

HENDERSON, Ky. (EWHT) – Kentucky Transportation officials look to improve a heavily traveled Henderson intersection.

And their asking the public for feedback.

A project is in place to make U.S. 41 and Watson Lane safer and to improve traffic flow.

KYTC is looking to add extra turn lanes, widen Watson Lane and add a sidewalk.

Officials say U.S. 41 and Watson is the most heavily traveled intersection in the area, with about 42,000 vehicles a day.

“In most cases, you can go to the intersection that has the highest traffic count, and that’s generally going to be the highest amount of crashes simply because the more vehicles that travel through an intersection, the more likely it is somebody’s going to make a mistake and something’s going to happen.”

A public information meeting will be held Monday, Sept. 16th at Bend Gate Elementary School from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
