A fundraising event is held for the National Veterans Memorial in Henderson Saturday.
The organization was started by James Henager. The memorial, located in Buckskin, IN, pays tributes to veterans lost overseas and ones reported as MIA.
On Saturday, Henager and volunteers collected donations outside of the Henderson Wal-Mart. All the money raised goes toward tracking down the families of lost soldiers.
“Unlike what they’ve done in Washington, D.C. where MIA’s are not added, we’re doing that with this, because so many of them will never be found,” said Henager, “Even though there’s non-profits out there searching every day, there are just too many of them.”
Henager also accepted food donations for his food bank, which is also located at the Henager Family Museum.
