ILLINOIS (WEHT) – A political fundraising event for a state senator in Chicago took a wrong turn when a mock assassination photo started circling online.
This picture was posted on social media.
It shows an event attendee pointing a fake assault weapon at another person wearing a Mexican costume and a mask of President Donald Trump.
The mock assassination drew condemnation from both the left and right, including Illinois’ governor.
The Democratic Senator released an apology saying that behavior is “unacceptable”.
And says he does not condone violence toward the president.
