Resurrection School first graders were challenged by their teachers to make a difference in the world.
The Evansville students were given five dollars each to go out and help as many people as they can.
Those students spoke in front of a small audience of parents and grandparents about their project and how it made them feel.
One teacher says the goal of the project is to teach the students to care for others.
“I’m trying to teach them to look outside themselves because we can all be selfish. We all think of number one first and these students most of them are so blessed. They’re not worried about where their next meal is coming from. They don’t have to worry about their health. They are finding out there are people out there that actually need our help.”
Now, we’re told one student was able to turn their five dollars into one thousand dollars.
