Ribbon cut on new state-of-the-art fire station in Daviess County

DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – The ribbon is cut for a new state-of-the-art fire station in Daviess County.

This will help the firefighters serve the community better than ever.

Fire Chief Jeremy Smith shares his excitement for the new facility.

“We had our ribbon cutting today for our new station the Daviess County Fire Department. We were able to secure some federal monies for this project and with our local and state government’s help we were able to complete this project. We are tickled to death to have this facility. We can do so much more training. It’s going to be such a bigger benefit to our community and our firefighters.”

The new facility includes new equipment, a three-story training tower for their rope repel team to train for rope rescue operations, confined space training, an airplane door mock-up for aircraft emergency rescue simulations, a new gym, and a new living quarter.
