A federal court judge in Evansville once again says Indiana must recognize at least one same sex marriage.
Judge Richard Young issued the ruling in the case of Amy Sandler and Niki Quasney of Munster.
Quasney is suffering from stage four ovarian cancer.
Judge Young granted the couple a temporary restraining order in April… which kept the state from enforcing its
same-sex marriage ban.
That order was set to expire today.
In a statement, the Indiana Attorney General’s office expressed sympathy over Quasney’s difficult medical
situation, but believes the motion should not have been granted.
Quasney and Sandler are one of five couples involved in a lawsuit that challenges the constitutionality of
Indiana’s ban on same sex marriage.
