Shane Breedlove was murdered in cold blood more than two years ago, but his loved ones hope to keep his memory alive.
Breedlove was murdered while walking to work on the east side of Evansville in July 2015.
He was a beloved musician and DJ, who often provided the soundtrack to a good time.
His murder remains unsolved, but a foundation set up in his name will be holding a fundraiser this weekend to raise money for scholarships and music equipment at area schools and churches.
Breedlove’s best friend, Rob Hensely, says the fundraiser is what Shane would have wanted.
A $40,000 reward is still being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Breedlove’s killers.
The fundraiser will take place at the Henderson County Fairgrounds from noon until 5 p.m.
There will be live music, food, and a live auction.
The US Air Force will also be taking donations to help hurricane victims.
