On Sunday, the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal accident in the area of Island Ford and Iglehart Rd. in Hanson.

The driver of the involved vehicle, William Bean, told police one of his passengers climbed out of the right side of his Jeep while it was still moving.

Bean said other passengers tried to get John Hayden, 21, to get back in the Jeep.

However, the driver said Hayden slipped and fell down the side of the Jeep as it was slowing down and was run over by the vehicle.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office reported to the accident around 10:20 p.m.
