Newburgh honors law enforcement Tuesday night.
Dozens turned out to salute first responders and show appreciation for Newburgh Police, Fire, and EMS.
First Christian Church hosted the event where they sang and prayed.
The Women’s Club of Newburgh organized the ceremony. They recognize it’s a small gesture, but worth the effort to show they care.
“They take a lot of abuse, especially nationally, and sometimes it seems like it doesn’t matter what the police do, they really can’t do the right thing. So it – we just want to give them an evening that shows we appreciate what they do,” said Dily Goodwin.
Four winning posters in a contest were also on display from Sharon and Newburgh Elementary.
