Sprint Hit with Largest “Do Not Call” Fine

Sprint will pay the government a 7.5 million fine. for sending commercial phone and text messages to customers who opted out of them.

As part of the settlement, the wireless carrier will set up a compliance program and report to regulators over the next two years.

Sprint blames the unwanted messages on technical and human error and says it has made improvements.

This is the largest fine in a “do not call” case.
