St. Benedict School to reopen Monday

News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Saint Benedict School in Evansville is out due to bats.

Students did their lessons from home Friday.

According to administrators, maintenance workers found a colony of bats living in the attic of a school building.

Work is underway to seal the affected building so the bats can be removed, which is expected to take as long as two weeks.

School is scheduled to be back in session Monday, but students and teachers will be kept away from the bats.

Officials say there’s no risk in the school’s two other buildings.
