US News and World Report ranks St. Marys Medical Center as the 3rd best hospital in Indiana. Also, for the 3rd year in a row it’s been named the best hospital in Southern Indiana.
This is the 26th year for the US News ‘Best Hospitals’ rankings. It reviews more than 170 hospitals in the state. The ‘Best Hospital in Indiana’ was named IU Health Academic Health Center in Indianapolis.
“U.S. News and World Report uses publicly available data in the areas of mortality and quality and safety. The federal government collects that data every year. They use reputation data so they go out and actually do surveys of all their physicians across the country and they look for reputation,” said Keith Jewell.
St. Mary’s is part of Ascension, the nation’s largest Catholic and non-profit health system.
