Standoff in Evansville Ends without Injuries

About a 45 minute police standoff in Evansville ends without any serious injuries. Before 4 p.m. police responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call near the intersection of Virginia and Third Avenue. Police say when they arrived a man barricaded himself in his apartment and threatened to shoot officers through the door. Witnesses say when the man opened his door, police shot him with non-lethal rubber bullets. Witnesses say the man retreated in his home then walked back out a few minutes and was taken into custody. The man was not found with a weapon. He is charged with intimidation and is being taken in for a mental evaluation.
