The Courier-Journal reports former Kentucky Attorney General Greg Stumbo will seek that office once again.

Democrat Andy Beshear is the current attorney general, but he is running for governor in 2019.

Stumbo, 67, told the Courier-Journal Saturday that he plans to run for the office. Stumbo was the Kentucky Speaker of the House from 2009-2017.

Republican State Senator Whitney Westerfield (R-Hopkinsville) is running on the Republican ticket for attorney general.

Westerfield ran against Beshear for the position in the 2015 election.
