We’re still two months away from the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, but members of the Evansville chapter are getting out into the community to get people to sign up.
Komen volunteers hosted what they called a “happy hour” on Wednesday night. It was at Buffalo Wild Wings on the west side.
It allowed people to learn more about the Komen Foundation and register for Race for the Cure on September 27.
“In our area, we still have a lot of people that like to have an actual registration in their hand, and they like to talk to people,” said Komen Foundation Special Events Coordinator Amanda Green. “So, for us to get out into the community and talk to people helps us tremendously, and this is a great location to kind of reach a younger demographic too.”
Also 10% of sales today at both the east and west side Buffalo Wild Wings will go to the Komen Foundation.
