DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. (WEHT) – More than half a million dollars in improvements are coming to Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park as part of the state’s “Restoring the Finest” initiative.
There will be $670,000 in upgrades made to the state park.
The announcement was made Tuesday.
The initiative is an effort to make repairs and safety improvements to the Kentucky State Park system.
This funding will address water and sewer upgrades at the park near Dawson Springs, including increasing water pressure and capacity and replacing water lines to the park’s cottages to be used year-round.
Kentucky State Parks received millions of dollars in added funding as part of the “Restoring the Finest” campaign between 2016 and 2018.
Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park has a lodge, cottages, campground, restaurant, hiking trails, golf course, beach, lake and offers recreational activities throughout the year.
