EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Three people were arrested in Evansville after police said a kidnapping victim jumped out of a second story window to escape.
On Saturday around 7:20 p.m. police were sent to the intersection of Garvin Street and Michigan Street for a person down.
According to a police affidavit, an officer found a woman on the ground and in pain. The woman told police she was held hostage and had to jump out of a window.
According to authorities, the victim told an officer that she had went to smoke meth with 52-year-old Sonya Saunders and 45-year-old Angela Storey at a residence on Garvin Street. Police said the victim was then tied up on an old van bench by her arms and legs.
The victim told police she was able to escape to the living room, but Storey and Saunders tied her up again. The victim stated she was able to get free again, then jumped from a window.
While being interviewed, police said Saunders admitted to tying up the victim because she had stolen $65 from her. According to the affidavit, Saunders also said she wanted to cut off the victim’s finger and feed it to her because she was tired of being robbed.
Police said a knife and stun gun was found after a search of the property.
An officer said he also observed several broken zip ties, a bungee cord, an electrical cord, and the van bench.
Saunders and Storey face multiple charges including kidnapping.
A third person, 67-year-old Cynthia Henderson, was arrested on drug possession charges.
