Three children hurt in Evansville fire

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – A kitchen fire sent five people to the hospital, including three children.

According to the Evansville Fire Department, a neighbor called 911 Thursday around 6:22 p.m. when she saw people leaving Grand Oaks Apartments with burn injuries.

According to fire officials, seven people left the home, and five of them had burns. Three people, including two children, were flown to Louisville and Indianapolis. Two others were treated at St. Vincent.

The fire was quickly put out. The cause remains under investigation.
