LOUISVILLE, Ky (WEHT)– Honor Flight Bluegrass runs flights to Washington, D.C. for all western Kentucky veterans. Plans to take western Kentucky veterans to D.C. October 20 still stand, according to Honor Flight organizers.

Jeff Thoke of Honor Flight Bluegrass says they already canceled one trip scheduled for September 2. Honor flight organizers are watching regulations at airports they use and figuring out how to keep everyone safe during the trip.

“This is an extraordinary situation we’re all in. Again, the last thing any of us, and I know the network is concerned about this, that anyone go on this flight and they come home with COVID. None of us want that,” Thoke also says chapters around the country have been grappling with the pandemic and regulations during their planning.

Southern Indiana veterans will not be traveling soon. The Honor Flight of Southern Indiana has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.
