Indiana Senate committee takes up civics education bill

INDIANA (WEHT) – An Indiana Senate committee is taking up a bill requiring civics education in schools. The measure would require sixth-, seventh- or eighth-graders to complete one semester of civics education. The curriculum would cover local governments and give students a better understanding of how cities conduct business. The Indiana House passed the measure last month.
