The 36th Annual Tri-State Pride Picnic took place on Sunday evening at Burdette Park.
Officials say not only did gay, lesbian, transgender, and bisexual members attend, but families and community members joined in as well.
The event consisted of bands playing, food, and a drag show.
The president of the club says they had a great turn out this year, but they are already looking forward to the next.
President Wally Paynter of the Tri-State Alliance says, “Next year, we’re expanding to include a pride festival probably on Haynie’s Corner during pride month in addition to the picnic so we’re looking at expanding and celebrating who we are and our own unique individuality.”
Tri-State Alliance also held a benefit Sunday evening for one of their members whose house burnt down.
