You can eat bar-b-que, and help children impacted by a devastating hurricane.

A Madisonville church is serving up bar-b-que to help serve children in Haiti.

Life Christian Center is holding a bar-b-que fundraiser every Tuesday through Thursday until April.

Proceeds will help send a group of volunteers, which includes several Madisonville police officers, to the Carribean nation.

They plan to place a roof on a school that was damaged in the 2010 earthquake.

“Right now, they’re basically working out of one building. So, by reroofing this school and making it functional for them, we’re doubling their ability to take in students,” said organizer John Kincaid.

Orgainzers say it costs more than a thousand dollars to send a single volunteer to Haiti for nearly a week.

The group is scheduled to leave for Haiti on the last week of April.
