Opening statements are scheduled to begin Monday in the trial of suspected movie theater shooter, James Holmes.
In 2012, 12 people were killed and 70 others were hurt in an Aurora, Colorado theater during a midnight showing of “The Dark Knight Rises.”
Holmes has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, saying he was “in the throes of a psychotic episode” at the time of the shooting.
Prosecutors argue he was sane and are pushing for the death penalty.
The trial is expected to last at least four months.
