Donald Trump has reached the number of delegates needed to clinch the Republican Party’s presidential nomination.

Based on analysis from ABC News, Trump has surpassed the 1,237 delegates needed to secure the nomination.

He now has 1,239 delegates according to ABC News’ estimates.

Trump will not formally be the nominee until delegates cast their votes at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland in July.

After the Indiana primary, RNC Chair Reince Priebus called Trump the presumptive nominee, and then Ted Cruz and John Kasich both dropped out of the race.
