Two injured during early morning Evansville fire

One man has been injured in Evansville after jumping from a second story window to escape a fire.

Evansville fire investigators said a fire was intentionally set at Woodland Park apartment complex just before 4:00 a.m. Tuesday.

EFD said the fire started on a vacant floor of the apartment complex on Sunburst Boulevard.

Crews say they found an exit sign had been torn down in the same area where the fire originated.

Flames and smoke burned walls and carpet.

Two people had to be treated for injuries.

EFD said one man broke a window on the second floor and jumped to safety. In the process, he injured his arm.

Another person has been treated for smoke inhalation.
