The Vanderburgh County Commission was scheduled to vote Tuesday on an agreement on the development of University Parkway, but the vote was delayed due to legal concerns.
The Evansville Metropolitan Planning Organization brought a memorandum of understanding before the commissioners for them to agree to their part in the University Parkway construction project.
The project will expand a six-mile section of the parkway to prepare for development.
“We have to go back and we have to get the legal folks involved and we have to see if we can come up with a memorandum of understanding which all three groups can agree on you’ve got the commissioners you’ve got the MPO and you’ve got the area planning group all three have to sign this,” said Bruce Ungethiem.
The commissioners say they support the project, but need to sort out some legal matters first.
