UPDATE: Arrest Made in Connection with ISU Shooting

An ISU student from Indianapolis was arrested Sunday on a preliminary charge of attempted murder. 
21-year-old Calvin McCauley was arrested Sunday.
Campus police say the student who was shot on campus was the sole intended target of the attack. 
Officials also say the victim is expected to make a full recovery.
ISU officials believe this is an isolated shooting incident and that there is a heavy police presence on campus though they believe the shooter has left the area.


At 9:27PM, the school posted this update on their webpage: 
“The investigation is continuing in to the shooting incident earlier this date. ISU Police are certain that the victim was the sole intended target. The victim and the suspect had been acquainted before this incident occurred and both were together for over an hour earlier in the day.

The victim has not been fully cooperative in the investigation making the obtaining of additional information more difficult.

The university is beginning to return to normal conditions though all person are urged to report any suspicious activity.”
Police are investigating a possible shooting at Indiana State University.
According to an alert posted on the school’s webpage, a student claims he was struck by gunfire while walking on campus.
The student was conscious and alert.
