Update: Traffic down to one lane after truck gets wedged under overpass

One lane of westbound I-64 is reopen after a truck was wedged under an overpass in Wayne County, Illinois.

Illinois State Police say 52-year-old Michael Willie was driving westbound on I-64 with the truck bed raised, when he hit the Wayne County Road 1200 E overpass. It happened around 6:20 Wednesday morning.

Police say the bed of the truck was separated from the truck after hitting the overpass and remained wedged under the overpass.

Traffic will be down to one lane in the area as IDOT inspects the damage to the overpass.

Willie was cited for vehicle over height, no valid registration, and overweight on registration.

Illinois State Police and Wayne County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a wreck that happened around 7 a.m. Wednesday.

It happened on I-64 WB near mile marker 103. A dump truck got wedged under the overpass.
