Brian Claspell filed to be the Coroner candidate for the Vanderburgh County Republican Party on Tuesday.
Claspell was appointed by Wayne Parke, Vanderburgh County Republican Party Chairman, to fill a ballot vacancy.
Claspell is an Evansville native who was hired as a part-time Deputy Coroner for the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office in 2001. In 2003, he was offered a full-time position as Deputy Coroner and lead investigator with the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office.
He is also employed as a part-time Deputy Coroner and Medicolegal Death Investigator for the Warrick County Coroner’s Office.
