Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office releases cause of death for teen killed in crash

The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office has released the cause of death for a teen killed in a crash Monday night.

The coroner’s office says 17-year-old Joshua Schaefer suffered internal injuries related to blunt force trauma from the collision. 

Evansville Police and Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s deputies worked the crash.

Part of State Road 57 was shut down at Oakhill Road during the investigation.

Authorities say Schaefer’s vehicle crossed the center, crashing into another vehicle.

Three other people were hurt in the crash, but their conditions are unknown at this time.
