Victim of early morning shooting identified

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The victim of a shooting in downtown Evansville was identified on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said 48-year-old Robert Lee Johnson was shot Wednesday morning in the 500 block of SE 10th St.

Authorities said Johnson was found in a parking lot with a gunshot wound to the head.

Johnson was taken to Deaconess Hospital, where he’s still receiving medical care as of Wednesday afternoon.

Police have not been able to interview Johnson.

Earlier Wednesday, Eyewitness News was told Johnson was in ‘serious condition.’

Police said no arrests have been made.
