The new leader of one of Kentucky’s top universities makes his first appearance in the Tri-State.
Western Kentucky University President Timothy Caboni was in Owensboro on Thursday.
Caboni started two weeks ago after replacing retired President Gary Ransdell.
His first items on his agenda were setting the university’s strategic plan and making sure students graduate on time.
“In addition to strategic planning, we’re going to do some strategic doing as well. So, we’ll focus on recruitment, particularly around how do we make sure we’re yielding students in the spring semester, but also ensuring that the young people we make an offer to admission to know we want them to graduate in four years,” said Caboni.
Caboni also visited the WKU Owensboro campus and met with city and educational leaders.
