The woman charged in the deadly shooting of her boyfriend Stedman Baird in October 2016 has pleaded guilty to murder.

Chauna Reed, 26, entered the guilty plea on Tuesday morning in Vanderburgh County Circuit Court.

According to authorities, Reed shot and killed Baird, 27, in the 1800 block of Plantation Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Reed told detectives, ‘she must have shot [Baird] but doesn’t remember doing it.’

The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office said Baird was shot once in the head.

In October, Reed will be sentenced to 45 years as part of the plea agreement.

In addition to being accused of murder, Reed was also charged with dealing meth and narcotics. Those charges are being dismissed along with a sentencing enhancement for using a firearm that would have added time to her sentence if she had been convicted at trial.
