INDIANAPOLIS (WEHT) – The Indiana Chamber of Commerce is endorsing Governor Eric Holcomb in his re-election bid.
This is only the second time the Indiana Chamber has endorsed a gubernatorial candidate.
The last time was in 2008 for the re-election of Governor Mitch Daniels.
Just like Holcomb, Daniels was a Republican governor seeking a second term.
“We only make endorsements in statewide races in special circumstances. Governor Holcomb’s Next Level agenda has undeniably propelled the state forward in many meaningful ways. His leadership, drive and desire to bring people together to listen and learn have all been extraordinary,” says Indiana Chamber President and CEO Kevin Brinegar.
A Carmel businessman named Brian Roth has filed paperwork to run against Holcomb in the Republican primary,
Democrats Eddie Melton, Woody Myers, and Josh Owens have reportedly declared their candidacy – along with Libertarian Bill Levin.
