(WEHT) – With the Iowa caucuses set for Monday, WalletHub compared Iowa’s demographics and public opinions against that of the entire country to find out how closely the state resembles the United States.
The report gave Iowa an Overall Resemblance Index score of 89.

In the report, WalletHub noted that the Iowa caucus tends to be a better predictor for how the Democratic nomination process will go as compared to the Republican nomination process.
According to WalletHub, 70% of Democratic winners went on to secure the nomination for president and only 38% of Republican winners secured the nomination.
Iowa least resembles the US in terms of race, with a 50% difference, the report said.
Iowa most resembles the US in terms of average work hours with a 99.74% similarity, according to WalletHub.
