EVANSVILLE, Ind. – (WEHT) After a down to the wire finish, Adam Bratton (-8) wins the 2019 Men’s City Golf Tournament at the Evansville Country Club.
Bratton entered the day one stroke off the lead, but a par putt on 18 sealed the deal for last year’s tournament runner-up. Grant Saylor (-7) rallied down the stretch to enter the final hole tied for first before finishing as runner-up. David Mills (-6) placed third.
“I was in disbelief honestly, it’s kinda surreal. This has been a goal of mine for a really long time. I’ve come really close the past few years so to finally get the job done, it feels really good. It really hasn’t sunk in yet, but this tournament means a lot to me with my dad winning it so it’s really special,” said Bratton.
Bratton follows in his dad’s footsteps, who won the tournament in 1997. The Castle senior will forgo his senior season of golf with the Knights to graduate early and begin his college career playing for Georgia Tech.
