OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – The former Owensboro Catholic standout, Becca Greenwell, returned to her old stomping grounds on Saturday.
Greenwell hosted her skills clinic at the Aces gym, featuring drills, competitions, and fundamental work outs.
The former Duke guard had multiple accolades and was grateful to return to her alma mater.
“I went to camps just like this, that’s how I got to be where I am today just constantly going to camps throughout the summer so to be able to be back here in Owenbsoro at my alma mater just means a lot to be able to give back to the kids. I love it, it still feels weird to me, I feel like I should still be the player, but it feels good to have little kids look up to me and really work hard, listen to me, it just feels great. “
One of the campers, Olivia Castlan, says she was thrilled to be at the camp and learn from such a great local athlete.
“She’s kinda like a celebrity, when I walked in I was like woah, she plays college basketball because like I’m from Owensboro Catholic and she’s from Owensboro Catholic so I just always looked up to her. She just teaches so well it just makes me better. “
Greenwell hopes to return to the WNBA after suffering a knee injury.
