Castle boy’s swimming aims for 6th straight sectional crown

PARADISE, Ind. (WEHT) – Castle looks to try to extend a very nice streak in the pool this weekend.

The Knights will aim for their 6th straight sectional championship. Castle has dominated sectional competition over the years. The Knights have 25 championships in their program. That’s 7th most in state history.

They will be favorites again, and first year head coach, Kyle Johnson says, he hopes to keep the streak alive.

“It’s not every often that I get the opportunity to coach such a historic program and with these boys every day is an adventure and watching them grow and succeed as swimmers has been fantastic.”

His team has bought into his training and they too want to keep up their rich tradition in the pool this weekend. Castle sophomore, Caleb Beaven thinks his squad has the tools to bring home another crown.

“We definitely want to keep the streak going badly, but it will be a little of an uphill battle but we are still fighting for it. It’s a very unique experience. It’s a rich very program so you have that history behind it. I can’t really describe it. You have a lot of pressure, but it’s very fun at the same time.”

The sectional finals will be held at Castle tomorrow.
