PARADISE, Ind. (WEHT) – Castle girls basketball team is ready to push forward after a memorable postseason run last season.
The lady Knights won their first regional championship title since 2006. Despite, losing some key players from a season ago, they believe their are still right in the mix.
Head coach, Bob Meier and the team are still hungry for more as sectionals are right on the horizon.
“They are competitive girls, they will allow us to challenge them, and they will compete. All the signs so far are pointing to them rising to the challenge and play as well as they can play.”
While Castle doesn’t have veterans like in years past, senior, Carly Harpenau has been impressed with how the team has progressed through their campaign this year.
“I hope we can get back to where we got to last year, but we have to take it one game at a time and focus on our next game. I really am proud of them. We are a young team, I knew we were going to deal with struggles throughout the beginning, but they have really grown up fast. They really have shown us what they can do.”
Castle plays Boonville tomorrow night on the road.
