NEWBURGH, Ind (WEHT) – Castle’s softball team pushes forward after the Knights won their fifth consecutive SIAC title. Pat Lockyear’s team went 12 and 1 in league play.

Overall, Castle held a 20-3 record and were ranked 7th in the latest 4A poll. Lockyear says winning the conference is always special.

“It’s not a given, we haven’t won it every year, since I’ve been here but it’s certainly something to be proud of and now we have to move on. There’s a lot of excitement, hopefully we can continue with that energy because I think that’s what happened to us last year, we kind of got on a roll, but you have to play one game at a time.”
