ATLANTA, GA (WEHT) – Central grad, Aaron Barrett, made his emotional return to Major League Baseball pitching for the Washington Nationals on Saturday night.
Barrett faced four batters in the 5th inning and wept once he reached the dugout with manager Dave Martinez. It was his first pitching appearance in the MLB since 2015. During his time on the mound, he struck out Ronald Acuna Jr.
Barrett makes his comeback after a broken humerus in his right elbow threatened Barrett’s career in July of 2016.
The Washington Nationals look to avoid the sweep today against the Atlanta Braves.
