Challenger League joins Otters at Bosse Field before heading off to Little League World Series

The Highland Challenger League is just a few days away from playing in the Little League World Series in Wiliamsport.

The Highland team was chosen from 900 challenger league teams to take place in the challenger game on Saturday. The team practiced for the final time on Monday night at Bosse Field and were joined by members of Jacob’s Village and the Evansville Otters.

“A lot of these kids and their parents never thought that their children would ever even play the game of baseball, so to give them the opportunity just to play the game, that’s satisfying enough,” said Matt Pokorney, director of the Highland Challenger League. “Then taking it to the next level and going to Williamsport, this is a dream come true for our kids and for our families.”

The team will leave for Williamsport on August 23rd.
