Ellis Park's biggest event is approaching. The grade three Groupie Doll stakes race will be this Sunday at the track.
The race features 11 fillies and mares three years and up. The winner has a chance to pocket 100,000 dollars.
Excitement surrounds Ellis park as this special race day gets closer. Racing secretary, Dan Bork, believes this event has it all.
"This is our biggest weekend of the meet. It's our premiere day, the Groupie Doll, its our only greatest stake of the summer, grade c, fillies with 100,000 dollars. We have 11 horses running in it and they are all outstanding fillies, it looks like it's going to be a great race."
Ellis Park will have another race: it is the $75,000 Ellis Park Derby with 3-year-olds, and it's a mile.
