NEWBURGH, Ind (WEHT) – Evansville Christian held a pep rally for their basketball team on Thursday afternoon.

The Eagles are off to the final four of the Indiana Christian School Athletic Association state tournament.

That’s a huge accomplishment for the program in just it’s second season of varsity competition. Athletic Director, Paul Dunham, says their hard work is paying off.

“They have worked so hard and now they get to go to and play for the state finals of the Indiana Christian School athletic association so we are really proud. We don’t have a large gym, and it’s really loud and we have an outstanding, and you saw it during the pep rally.”

Senior, Eban Head, is enjoying the ride, and hopes the Eagles will continue to play well.

“I was beyond happy to come from last year and only winning one game and then to come to this year and have a winning record and be state bound. I think that’s really impressive.”

Evansville Christian will play Victory Christian on Friday night.
