Former Firebirds president sues National Gridiron League


EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) Former Firebirds team president Jim Riggs has filed a lawsuit against the National Gridiron League.

The suit claims the league failed to pay Riggs during his time as team president.

The suit also claims the National Gridiron League failed to: 

1. Pay team personnel

2. Provide office equipment

3. Pay office rent

4. Provide team merchandise

5. Acquire football equipment

The  Firebirds were scheduled to begin play last spring, with all home games at the Ford Center. The league has postponed the inaugural season to 2020.
