HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Harrison grad, Brandon Gaudin, went viral with recreating a homemade version of “One Shining Moment”.
After COVID-19 canceled the NCAA Tournament, Brandon Gaudin, had some free time, and made his own version of college basketball fans’ favorite video. The play-by-play announcer says the idea came when he he was exercising.
“I was out on a jog, and I started to think, I could recreate the One Shining Moment video that everybody wants so badly.”
It was an instant success. The Harrison grad’s viral Youtube clip drew over 100,000 viewers, more than 800 retweets, and over 2,000 likes on Twitter. Gaudin said he had to shut down his phone because of all the alerts he received.
“A couple of hours later, I had to turn off my notifications because I never had my phone buzz that much.I’m not that popular.”
Baudin stuck to all the details, buying 30 different college t-shirts, and imitating the marquee video so it received attention from a One Shining Moment video editor.
“Tom for the last 24 years, put that One Shining Moment video together, and he reached out to me and sent me an incredibly nice email and said as the guy who to sit in that chair, how appreciate he was of my home made effort.”
The Atlanta resident is not working like many others so he wanted to share some laughs due to the nation’s current situation.
“It just gave us a little bit of a break, a little rest from reality, that’s a response I didn’t expect, but really appreciate.”
